Spectra Events hosts RENAISSANCE, a monthly showcase of WOMEN AND TRANS PEOPLE OF COLOR MUSICIANS AND ARTISTS, featuring sounds from big band jazz to soulful ballads to spoken-word, gospel drag to classical guitar. This show is for the grown 'n' sexy, the street artist, the bohemian, and music lovers everywhere. RENAISSANCE is more than a live music show. It's a slow dance, a passionate love affair, red silk sheets, pulsating hips, heartbreak, love, fire. It is sweat, soul, and movement. Renaissance is black feminist sex!

If you'd like to perform at RENAISSANCE, please email a WORD DOCUMENT AS AN ATTACHMENT to [email protected] that includes the following:
1) Performance Date
2) Stage Name
3) Preferred Pronoun
4) Description of Performance / Act: Drag, Spoken Word Poetry and Other Literary Works w/ Music, LIVE MUSIC and any other kinds of performances infused with music and rhythm are all welcome.
5) Links to your work ("video" especially encouraged, but not required) / personal or fan page / social media channels / past reviews etc if any. This is an opportunity to showcase your work, so don't hold back.
6) Racial / Cultural / Ethnic Background (as RENAISSANCE is a showcase for POC / immigrant artists)
If you stumble upon this call after the deadline, we still encourage you to submit your act / profile for consideration. We will keep your profile on file for future productions.

Spectra Events has been producing events for over five years. With a strong following of local and regional fans and supporters, and a reputation for providing the Boston community with creative event concepts-- live music performances, spoken-word showcases, burlesque/drag theater productions, and more -- at Boston's most prestigious venues, you'll be giving your performer resume a treat.

IMPORTANT: RENAISSANCE is not a paid gig. Performers will be invited to earn a portion of ticket sales as their compensation by promoting their participation and the event via a unique tracking link. All performers will be vigorously promoted via our (and our affiliate) social media channels, and offered the opportunity to sell merchandise at the event for 100% of the profits. Performers will also enjoy free drink tickets courtesy of the venue.
